Bitvise Review

Like many of the SCP servers mentioned on our site, Bitvise is another great option that is Highly Regarded.

Bitvise supports not only virtual accounts managed at the software level, but can also utilize system users from Windows or Active Directory giving it a much greater level of flexibility.

Another notable feature of the Bitvise server is that it allows SCP Only access restrictions. This allows SCP usage while simultaneously disabling the basic shell for the account, protecting you from unintentionally giving a user direct Powershell access.

Bitvise SSH Server is ideal for remote administration of Windows servers; for secure file transfer by organizations using SFTP and SCP; for advanced users who wish to access their home machine from work, or their work machine from home; and for a wide spectrum of advanced tasks, such as securing other applications using SSH TCP/IP tunneling.

Features

  • Secure remote access via console and GUI interface (Remote Desktop and WinVNC Required)
  • Secure file transfer using SFTP and SCP
  • FTP over TLS/SSL – compatible with secure FTPS clients
  • Secure TCP/IP connection tunneling (port forwarding)
  • Git Integration
  • Two-factor Authentication
